Program Details

Join us at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center at the CRC for an introduction to Open Water Diving!

Take the plunge into scuba diving with this entry-level course designed to provide you a comprehensive overview of basic concepts that are needed to dive safely. These topics include equipment, physiology, planning, environmental considerations, and managing risks involved in open water diving. Once you complete the 15 hours of classroom and 15 hours of pool work, you qualify to take a separate Open Water certification, which must be taken separately and is not included in the course fee.

***All snorkeling and SCUBA gear WILL be provided for use during the class.***

We have all gear on-site and rentals are included in the course fee. The fee structure is as follows: GT Students: $189; GT Affiliates, Alumni, and Faculty/Staff: $249; Community Members: $329. All participants must be 10 years of age or older.

In some instances, the CRC database will not recognize you as a faculty member unless you are also a member of the CRC and registered as a faculty member. In the event that you fall into one of the categories of faculty/staff or affiliate and the system does not recognize you, you can still register and the difference will be adjusted on site at the member services desk in the form of a refund. Or, you may register in person. Spaces are limited and fill quickly.

There is a $20 non-refundable admin fee for cancellations. There is a $50 non-refundable materials fee if the scuba materials are provided and opened. At the discretion of the instructor, participants may be eligible to transfer to a future class due to extenuating circumstances. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GEORGIA TECH PARKING PASS, STUDENT DECK HOURLY PARKING IS AVAILABLE for $2/hr.
